Volunteering is the joy of making a difference
one purr at a time.
We rely on our fantastic team of dedicated volunteers to help and we would love
for you to join us. If you are mad about cats, then we need you!
We help hundreds of cats and kittens a year. The majority of these success stories
are thanks to the dedication of our volunteers.
Fostering
By volunteering to foster a cat/kitten with KittenKarers, you’re helping us
to rescue more every year and for us to take in animals that otherwise may have
been turned away.
Many of our feline friends are cared for by volunteers, who play an important role
by providing a safe home and plenty of TLC to cats/kittens who need a helping
hand as they wait for their forever homes. Volunteering to foster a cat/kitten can be
hugely rewarding, all you need is time, space and love.
As a foster carer, this involves:
- Meeting the needs of cats and kittens in your care.
- Upholding veterinary and care standards as per KittenKarers
requirements. - Caring for your foster cat/kitten, including feeding, grooming and
administering medication. - Cleaning and looking after their environment.
- Providing enrichment and socialisation for your foster cat/kitten, such as
playing, exercising and cuddles. - Introducing your foster cat/kitten to potential adopters.

Helping out the Rescue
KittenKarers always need help at the rescue to keep the cats/kittens fed
and clean.
- Gain a sense of achievement: Helping an animal in need can give you a sense of
pride and achievement. - Meet New People: You will meet and interact with a number of like-minded
individuals, so you will hopefully make some new friends along the way!
If you want to help out with cat care at the rescue, it is always ideal if you can
make it on a regular basis on set days, Most of our volunteers come from 9.30 am until noon on the
same day every week.
